Dreams

A fairytale land, a world built on clouds, our dreams fill our heads. When will she realize that who she dreams of becoming, she already is? She builds her empire day by day, brick by brick.. dragging them across the scorched earth determinedly stacking them higher and higher in an attempt to just graze her lofty goals. She nimbly climbs carrying another stone on her back reaching closer to her dreams and further from the disparity below. She labors vigorously perfecting her tower, lavishing over every detail. A proud feat stark against an unforgiving land. A victory all her own, a fortress against the elements, a worthy success to finally validate herself.
But she wasn’t strong from having her new fortress, but from the strength she built within herself.
